Home page URL not working for IE7

IE7 group policy

Normal Home page configuration for IE6 will not work for IE7, for IE6 we have to use below group policy settings (this group policy setting will not work for IE7)

That User configuration>>Windows settings>>Internet explorer maintenance>>URLs>>Important URLs (does not work with IE7)

If you have IE7 or Windows Vista or Windows 7 in your environment then you have to use the below IE7 group policy configuration to setup the Home page URL.

1. Type gpedit.msc in the Start menu’s search box and then press Enter.

Note: This guide shows you how to make changes to Windows Vista or Windows 7 using IE7 group policy. Group Policy is not available in Home versions of Windows Vista or Windows 7

2. Navigate to User Configuration, Administrative Templates, Windows Components, and then select Internet Explorer in the left column of the Group Policy editor.

3. Double-click Disable changing home page settings in the Settings section of the Group Policy editor.

4. Select Enable, type the home page to lock in, and provide home page URL.then click OK to save the changes.

Note: you should have latest GPO adm file for ie7 group policy and this ie7 group policy configuration need’s to be configured from Windows Vista and above
